can’t beat the anas for rolling
I do allot of greenland rolling.

My favorite boats for rolling are the Romany, Tiderace Xcite, Avocet(all three have low rear decks, and sit on edge nicely)

the Nordkapp LV(a little harder to balance brace than the previous two, you gotta keep that knee up, but less resistance at the end) and the Outer Island, which is easier than all three. I spent all last winter rolling in an OI in the pool. But you know what, the Anas Acuta beats them all, hands down. In the Anas, I can do really slow, hand rolls with a closed fist forward and rear finishing, on both sides.

Without even really even having to try, I can’t do this in the other boats, not even close. I can get a rear deck hand roll on my right side only in the other ones.

If you want a greenland rolling machine, go for the anus. The ocean cockpit is great for rolling too.

greenlander pro
Oh ya, I own a Greenlander Pro, and it sucks for rolling. The rear deck is way too high.

Same to…
I have the same problem with my P&H Vela (see question above). A very low volume boat, hard chines, fantastic otherwise, but when it comes to rolling it’s not easy. I can’t lean back on the rear deck (tried both seat positions), it’s too high. Maybe it’s not just me, on “this is the sea II” there’s a guy with this boat at “the bitches” (UK), he always does a foredeck roll (and the foredeck is also quite high!).

Yesterday I took my greenland stick and tried the “lay back in the water and watch the sky while sculling” thing, but failed after a few seconds.
