Did you notice that one guy was not wearing a life jacket while discussing all the dangers he had to face paddling across the river? Also both guys needed to flip their paddles over.

Personally, I would suggest biking or a multimodal commute built around a bike. Was in Manhatten in spring and was surprised by the increases in bike lanes and bike usage. Have also heard their relatively new sharebike program - Citibike - has really taken off.

I had a friend that when he worked
in the Old Port of Portland ME kayaked from his Peaked Island home. Its not that uncommon for island people. He knew others.
