Connecticut river information

Hi,

Where I can find information about the upper and middle Connecticut river ?

Like maps, trip reviews, paddlers notes, dam information, capmsites along the river, etc

Most important information for me is the river “style”. For example, I have found on (http://www.talltimber.com/Kayaking.htm):

“Kayaking the river in Pittsburg is as rewarding as it is dangerous. The river from the town of Pittsburg south to Beecher Falls, Vermont is only considered Class I and II, but it is very rocky and requires proper water levels for a good float.”

So I need information like this.

If you know some web-sites, give me the URLs, please.

Connecticut River Joint Commission
Try this site, www.crjc.org

It is a great site on paddling the Connecticut River from the beginning near the Canadian border to the MA border. It is broken down by different segments, with lots of information and maps.

2 books…

and Mike Tougias’ “River Days” provides an excellent detailed narrative on paddling several sections of the river. The Connecticut River Watershed Council has some info too: http://www.ctriver.org/
