cookbook

I would like some suggestions on cookbooks for camping/backpacking/canoing. These foods should involve mostly dried food types, but could include other (fresh, etc) types also. Thanks for suggestions of book to consider.

We’re talking about this in -

Backpacking Recipes work well
The goal here is typically to have food that (depending on the length of the trip):

  1. Is Preservable for the length of your trip
  2. Packs light
  3. Provides enough nutrition
  4. tastes good

To that end, the wife and I have found that backpacking cookbooks are more plentiful than kayak-specific ones and have recipes that mostly fit the above criteria. We have these books and recommend them:

I’ll second that one…
and I have all the others mentioned in this thread.

Not only a great cookbook for the paddler but excellent material regarding prep , drying, and storing.

I do not believe in compromising my feed sessions when paddling!

Pleasant waters.
