D-Rings

This may be a silly question, but can I use crazy glue to attach a vinyl D-Ring to my royalex canoe?
I've read how to do it the right way, but I want a quick fix without the possibility of eating through my hull. I'm thinking it will work because I haven't found too many things that crazy glue can't bond.

Thx,
D

Will it work?
Will it secure the D ring securely? Maybe.

Will it secure the D ring long term? Maybe.

Will it continue to secure the D ring long term, after multiple exposures to water? Maybe.

Will it hold the D ring securely when you need it the most? Maybe.

Will it damage the Royalex? Maybe/Maybe not…

You said you already know the correct method.

Why not take the time & do it correctly; instead of going for the quick fix, and worrying about the possible consequences?

Mohawk never recommended the use of Crazy Glue to secure D rings to Royalex. As far as I know, neither did Bell, Dagger, or Mad River. I’m pretty sure there was a reason for that.

But, in the final analysis, it is your boat.
