I posted a trip report a few days ago, and now it has disappeared. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know who/how to contact at paddling.com to figure out what happened?
I am one of the volunteer moderators here on the forums (not on the rest of the paddling.com site - don’t blame us for the classified spams!). I looked through the logs of the last 2 weeks to see if it was flagged as spam for some reason (thinking possibly one of us made a mistake as we try to keep these message boards free of spam). I don’t see anything from you marked as spam.
I am not an expert at the moderator functions, but looking at your account, the only message that the forums thinks you have posted here ever is the one I am replying to. It doesn’t show any other messages that you created.
Perhaps you started writing the post and for some reason it didn’t get fully posted? If that is the case, unfortunately it would be gone in the system.
Hi Peter,
Thanks for the reply. I apologize, I should have been more specific. It was a paddling trip report, which was stored as:
https://paddling.com/paddle/trips/neches-river-sh21-weches-alto-to-anderson-crossing-cr2829-1-night
It was around several days, long enough to be indexed by Google. (Google “paddling neches alto”, 3rd or 4th hit.).
I know I didn’t delete it, in fact I can’t even see an option to delete trip reports. So if paddling.com deleted it for some reason, I would like to understand why, so that I can resubmit it without whatever the issue might have been that caused it to be deleted.
Thanks very much.
Bishop Brock
I don’t think it was deleted. I think the trip report section is broken, as is the classified section.
Hopefully VerticalScope, the owners of the site, will fix what’s broken.
Interesting, when I search trip reports for BRBROCK, I do see that trip in the list of results. But when you click the link, it gets the same Page Not Found error.
As Rookie said, this is unfortunately outside of what we can do.
Thank you both, I’ll hang tight and see if it reappears.
