Marksmann, I sent you a few PMs. I may have an answer to your search.
If you are going to pick up, which one are you going to?
I spoke with paddling warehouse this morning before I went to bed. Worked last night. The guy told me he didnât have a 17 foot in stock. He took my number and said I could reserve/order one on his next deliveryâŚwhich should be April sometime. I told him a red delta 17. Fluid fun didnt pick up the phone.
Of coarse he did say that the order was pending whatever happens with canada tarriffs. He said if a 25% tarriff is pushed thru heâll likely not be getting any more delta kayaksâŚ
Go look at the PMs I sent to you. I think you may like what I have to offer and the information I have may be perfect for you.
I talked with Paddling Warehouse, they seemed like pretty good guys. There is also a dealer in North Carolina, âYakworks,â he is the guy who told me he would only ship a kayak with a furniture mover, not a common carrier and it would still be the buyerâs responsibility, about $600. I think this tariff nonsense is going to go through, too much political tit for tat going on. You better check other dealers to see what they have in stock, starting with Fluid Fun and this Yakworks (they are the closest) and maybe just about any other dealer after that, if the tariffs go through, nobody will be getting future shipments, nobody. That is if you really want a Delta. I believe it is the best Kayak for the money you can get. They do a good job.
Edit: Sleeping?âŚWhen kayaks are on the line?
I just DMâd you saying the same thing. North Carolina isnât showing a 17 in stock but fluid fun is. Fluid fun did call me while I was asleep today and I missed the call. Im off next 5 days and I should be able to speak with fluid fun tomorrow. I flip my sleep schedule on my off days to be awake during the day. You are absolutely correct tho. If the tarriffs go thru no more delta kayaks for us. Youâll never have enough buyers to justify a shipment and nobody is going to ship just one for somebody. Too cost prohibiting. Itâll price them out of the market for us. Oddly enoughâŚthat guy at paddling warehouse remembered talking to you @mjac and brought you up in ojr conversation. All he said is he had a phonecall about a week ago from a guy in Louisiana saying and asking the same questions!! Lol
If fluid fun has my kayak in stock when I speak to themâŚIâm buying it tomorrow and heading that way in two weeks.
It would be nice to split the cost of diesel in my truck. If anyone goes in on this DM me and Iâll send you my phone numberâŚtell you where I work. You can google the hospital I work at and call em to verify I work there etc. Iâm a cardiovascular ICU RN.
I donât know if Fluid Fun has the Kayak in a color you would want, but if they do, that is your kayak. Things could go south real quick trying to get a new Delta Kayak with the political things going on. I think there is a real risk this could jeopardize Delta Kayaksâ business. It is not easy running a business that size these days in an honest manner.
What did I tell you about â sleepingâ when Kayaks are on the line? You snooze, you loose. I canât remember my conversation with Paddlers Warehouse, I thought I Emailed him, I have go check, I talked with Yakworks on the phone . They both seemed okay.
Let me know, if I can hustle a deal with him maybe something will work. Might be a long shot.
That is a good thing, because you might give me a heart attack.
A green delta 17 for $699 in Naples, FL.
A blue delta 17 for $2000 in Maryland Heights, MO (he has been trying to sell since last July so ask for 1500 or so).
