Hello! New to the sport and looking to see if anyone in the Des Moines area would like to get together for some kayaking :slight_smile:

Central Iowa Paddlers
Central Iowa has a very active paddling group, the Central Iowa Paddlers. Their website is centraliowapaddlers.org and they run events weekly during the summer and less regularly the rest of the year. There is also an active group in Ames and a group of sea kayakers that do Lake Red Rock weekly. There are also two nearby whitewater parks that attract folks interested in those activities. There is a great paddle shop in Indianola (CanoeSport Outfitters) that also organizes classes and trips.
