Eddyline Equinox vs Hurricane Excursion 140

Would any of y’all have any experience paddling both boats? I have paddle the Equinox and found it a bit tippy. I was curious if the excursion 140 with the rounded hull would be as tippy?

Also a question of speed. Would the rounded hole of the excursion be slower than the hard chines of the Equinox? I also felt the deck height on the Equinox was low.

Another plus for me is the 39 or 38 inch long cockpit.

I was looking for a lighter boat that I could paddle in a race in a class that is 12‘6“ to 15‘6“ long. I think an ABS boat would be better than my Castine 145. Which I really bought for day touring and camping. I have a line on an equinox and an excursion for a really good price.

I also have a line on a hurricane Tampico 140L. And it also has a larger cockpit, but it is 1/2 inch narrower. And it has rounded hull also.

Thanks for any words of wisdom y’all could give!!
