Planning 2007 Sept trip, starting at Ham Lake down to Cherokee over to Brule and back up into Long Island Lake then back up the small lakes Gordon, Rib,Karl Crooss Bay, Just read a article in the winter edition of the Boundary Waters Journal by Heather Monthei and there was exstesive fire damage in the area,does anyone have anyinfo, is it still worth while going to this area, Went to Seagull Lake Sept, 2006and the lake to the and west was totaly destoyed and ruined our trip we had no Idea the fire had taken place.
