Does the Essex 36" clamp-on slotted yoke fit solo canoes? I bought one for a Mohawk Odyssey 14 but it doesn’t seem to fit inside at even the narrowest setting. The 36" should have warned me and I can try to extend the slots inwards with some help, but aren’t these yokes primarily for solo canoes? I did manage to use the clamps from the outside, but the grip isn’t very good.
Can you elongate the slots inward ?
Use a router or a sabre saw.

Call them, give them your best guess on width[s] needed, exchange. Then get a set of Chosen Valley Pads for the new one.
