I was at Flamingo today and they are soon to close the boat ramps for 60 to 90 days. This to clean out the harbor and channel of debris from last years storms. I don’t know if there will be an alternate put-in for yaks, I would venture a guess that there won’t be.
Getting too hot and buggy to be out there anyway...
Red Skelton gave flamingo warnings…
Thought that was…
Hecliff and Gertrude…
and BTW: Why do flamingos stand on one leg??
OK, why do flamingos stand on one leg?
OK… ducking head…
If they picked that one up… they’d fall down…
Someone actually ask me that at Sea World San Diego. When I answered they poured their drink on me…
buggy?
is it mosquito season yet? I wanted to get down a few more times.

Not until it starts raining…
we are OK right now…
DUNNO ABOUT THAT, GH…
Got 3 bites working in the back yard this afternoon.
Maybe I should quit watering the plants?
And besides, the skeeters aren’t so bad once you get a hundred or so yards off shore…
But untill then, Paul, you better get that wing working to clear out of there -or better yet, just have the clouds of the Florida State Bird carry you offshore to where you can, by yourself, with your GP,
PADDLE ON!

Mosquitos in Flamingo
I did an overnight at Cape Sable about a month ago. Everything was perfect on Saturday, wind and big fire kept the little “friends” away but in the morning… totally another story!!!
Breakfast and packing away never been so fast before.
I would say you can still do day trips in the area if you stay away from deep vegetation and avoid sunrise/sunsets but forget overnights.
My next camping trip in the area not before November.
Alternate put in’s
At Flamingo, for Florida Bay, kayakers can put in by the campground and to get to Whitewater Bay, put in at Coot Bay Pond. Peace Joel
