thanks gulfcoaster
have a friend who is going to to take 8 lbs and super dry it so I can make it into a powder form using a processor or blender. I think the real key is getting as much of the fat from the meat out as possible so it doesn’t go rancid on you.

rear deck bag
Sorry to resurrect this thread from page three but figured it was better than starting a whole new thread on packing. I have been looking at rear deck bags and trying to figure out the best one. there have been times when in a greenland boat it is really nice to lay back onto the avataq for a short rest and while it certainly impedes a full on rear deck roll, a deck bag that can carry the thremarest pad and tent stakes, be small enough to have a spare paddle next to it and be low enough that it wouldn’t seriously impede rolling would be a nice addition to the gear list.
Actually, I got some heat sealable nylon from Seattle fabrics and have made a long cylindrical one that appears to work quite well. I need to throw it in a pool and see just how dry it is though.

We use
a short (12-14 inch) piece of pool (fun) noodles, carried under a bungee on the front deck. Saves the gel coat a bunch.
My daughters won’t let go anywhere
near their kitchens while they do their ‘voodoo’ while making it. Don’t know why. I’ve never gotten sick from any of their creations so can only guess they’re not trying to poison me. They swear it’s all natural ingredients and to quit worrying.
I’m beginning to wonder just how big are the dividends on that life insurance policy they took out on me…
