Fall Rain and Local Rivers

My buddy Paul and I were going back and forth over where to paddle last weekend. With last week’s rain, there were lots of options, but I was looking to paddle something close to home. In the end, we decided to paddle one of our local rivers – the Branch. We ran a 7 mile section that is mostly flatwater with some quickwater and three easy rapids. It usually runs in the early spring, but it is a rare treat to have enough water to run it in the fall. The level was great - no bouncing off rocks, and I actually had to dump out the boat a couple of times.
