Favorite warm weather head gear?

Although I hesitate to disagree with
my elders, ball caps killed my father-in-law.He lived at the beach for 20 years and the skin cancer on his temples became so bad he progressed from having it frozen, to having the skin shaved until it bled,to radiation. They thought the radiation caused the brain tumor that killed him.

Most of us fair skinned people need a full brim.

I have this one…
This would be my vote, without giving into the tilley. I’ve got one. Stays put and dries quickly.

Another vote . . .
. . . for boonie hat, cheap, effective.

Birth-middle age-Tilley-ED- dimentia

Can you get a boonie in something other
than camo or army green? Maybe sentimental green or passion yellow? Bill

Yes
My favorite is black. Navy blue looks good, too. Tan. Lots of colors.

Favoorit hat…

Tilley hat
ball caps don’t give as much protection. Other Tilley-like hats are just wanna be’s and I would rather have the real thing.

You elitist pig!

hot weather hat
Spent the money nine years ago and purchased a nylon material Tilley hat with mesh venting. It has a darker color under the brim to help shield the glare. It floats and dries quickly. It stays on your head in gust of wind when the straps are used appropriatly. It keeps the rain out of your eyes and that is especially helpful if you wear glasses. The hat is cooler than no hat at all and especially a standard ball cap. There is a quality wicking headband that doesn’t ich. The hats are not inexpensive, but they are of high quality. They are a durable product that does what it is indented to do. A side benefit is that the wider brim not only helps protect the eyeballs, eyelids, ears, nose and neck from sun damage, it allows your sunglasses to function better because it helps keep the sunlight from getting behind the glass lens. Just make certain that you allow for the recommended proper fitting (hat on head with two fingers inside band…) Get it too tight and you won’t be satisfied… Great hat!

Hold on a second Elmo!
Did you borrow that paddle just for the photo, or do you actually own it? I didn’t think you’d touch one of those things.

Well…

Tilley
A Tilley. I’ve had mine for ten years and used it hard. It is showing some wear now, I could send it in and have it replaced but I don’t think I will. Gotta protect yourself from the sun as much as possible.

Columbia…
…wide brim. exterior 100% nylon. Trimming 100% polyester. Or just ball cap with a towel underneath. Dip towel or hat in water occasionally. Save your money for beer.

didn’t work the first time
Ok, trying this again since the link didn’t work the first time. Actually there are two nice hats that I like from this website. One is for warmer days, the other for colder, wetter days.

If the links don’t show up this time, I give up. At least check out the website, adventurehat.com cause there’s alot of nice hats on there. They’re also pretty reasonably priced.

Check em out…
