First Rec Kayak - Trying to decide

Rec Kayak
Go to www.hoosiercanoeclub.org, click on Members, go to Newsletters and click on July. I just did an article on Recreational Kayak Buyer’s Considerations for the newsletter. You may find some useful information there.

Two recommendations
Look at the WS Tsunami 120 - it fits the description of what you are looking for, but give you more room to grow as you learn then your standard basic rec boat. Also has two dry hatches and two bulkheads. I love mine, it has been a great first boat. At least give one a test paddle and see what you think.

I would also agree with those who recommended the Manitou 13 - great boat well suited to a number of conditions and will grow with you as you learn. You should def check it out.

I have a Necky Manitou 13 which also fits your criteria; it’s a great boat - stable, roomy, tracks well, and is fast for a rec boat. From what I’ve heard, the Manitou Sport is a dumbed down version of the Manitou 13.
