Foot entrapment and fishing

Read an article in May’s Field & Stream about Canadian walleye fishing on a Class III river. At one point, the author described his partner in a classic case of foot entrapment. His head was pushed under twice and he barely escaped with his life. The author mentions being close by but being unable to get to his partner to render assistance.

Just a reminder, if you flip over while fishing DO NOT walk out of a rapid. Always float or swim out of a rapid. Keep hands and feet AWAY from the bottom of the river.

Amen to that
I stopped reading Field and Stream and most of the other big outdoor magazines because they just make me jealous that such clueless people get to go to such cool places to fish. For Free.
