A friend of mine is a Forest Service employee and was out on a 7 day trip with a partner & while they were camped (not sure if when asleep or ??) someone came by their camp and took a full pack, their paddles & some other items.
They ended up having to paddle back in with the shovels they use to work on portages & campsites.
No info on who or why yet. Sounds like a vendetta against the FS to me?

If there are any unique articles stolen, or a list of items, please post that list. Occasionally stolen items go up for sale by the crooks and a reader of this post could alert the forest service. It would be nice to have them caught.
