French Broad

I’d like to paddle an NRS Outlaw inflatable from Marshall (below Marshall Dam) to Barnard take out/put in. I’m aware of Redmond Dam but want to know if the river in that section (section 8) is suitable for an advanced beginner. any help is appreciated. thanks!

Google Images follows suit with ‘River point to point’ maybe a spinoff of AmRiv ?

for example, using Google Maps with Topozone or Bing or GooEarth, choose a bridge or rapid at eg Upper Black Eddy, enter those search terms n find there’s a photo of that area.

It’s Eric Warner !
example, a search for the beautiful ‘Skagit River canoe kayak raft’ and here’s the S Bend with

amazing.

Thanks. I had found these and that led to my post. Still searching for info on section 8. I don`t think many people paddle this stretch. Maybe I should be posting in a different section?

That raft the FB below Marshall. The Blue Heron is one, and there are several others on the road to Hot Springs. You might give one a call or stop in and ask them.

Suitable
Section 8 is a class I-II paddle at normal levels. I did it a couple years ago and recall only 1 class II. If you have any easy rapid experience I think you should be fine. We put in directly below the Redmond dam to avoid the lake and portage.
