So they do make them! That’s the first time I saw one.
Taking fashion to a new level - not just socks with sandals, but drysuit socks with sandals! (Also note that my Chaco sandals have pizzas on them )
Paddling haute couture!
I should have added that there is a reason for this stylish display - normally I wear neoprene boots over my drysuit but I have bad feet and for the Everglades Challenge I would be in trouble wearing a shoe with no support for that long. So I have been paddling in my Chacos for a few months and will use them for the race.
I have the Chacos with the toe loop and I wear toe socks with them (not for paddling though!) So I think this is awesome, but would be even better if you had the toe loop ones and you kind of bunched up the drysuit socks to fit in them
@narrby this pair does have the toe loops! I just flattened them down so they are underneath. No stretch in drysuit socks so would probably be impossible (and very uncomfortable) to squish them into the toe loop. But I agree that would add to the “look”
Good thing we don’t Z2 loops,
protruding pizza toe,
for oft a Tony tiger shark
likes lil’ piggy pizza to go
And I’ve paddled through some wicked lightening. Yow!
I wonder if Turning Point Boatworks wants a stab at it… :- )
LMAO! Thank you!
Looks like there was a generator next to it……
That spatchcocked and fried Hobie happened 8 years ago — not lightning, but a fire caused by the generator blowing up and spewing gas and flame onto the dock and boat. Somebody got there with that hose just a tad too late. Poly does burn, especially with accelerant on it.
Great photos, made me smile! Thanks to all who rediscovered this thread and bumped it up to more current status.
That does sound more likely than a lighting strike. But you know the internet, the font of misinformation.
My mirrors stick out that far. A turn in camp grounds with trees could be interesting.
Then with all that hanging on the back of the trailer i wonder what the tounge weight is??
I would guess that your mirrors stick out that far from your truck/car and not that far from a trailer that is probably right at the 8’ wide range. Being that 8’6" is legal limit w/o an oversized permit I’d say that they really only are allowed 3" more per side.
And didn’t you know that a lighter tongue makes hooking up easier.
Some people can never have enough stuff.
