That’s so funny. There’s a place near me that has a very old, very bold snapping turtle that hangs out begging at the big rock where people go to hang out, swim, have lunch. I’d rather have the ducks.

I’m always pleased to see people that value their boats over their own lives and will strap their PFD to the boat or stick it in the cockpit or behind their seat to save the boat. A truly noble sacrifice.
When you get her back she’ll be different, and have trauma issues and trouble sleeping.

Not really a paddling picture (though the crossing jackass pictured was my paddling partner for several years) but I am rather fond of this inadvertent conjunction, along route 66 near the AZ/CA border.

Maryland crabs flock to traps with great enthusiasm. Lobsters are clever, mimicking speckled blue cook pots - not very smart, or the color of a cooked lobster - they end up on the newspaper anyway . . .
