Garage storage for kayaks

Great use of that space!

I’ve been using steel wall brackets like those pictured for 20+ years for storing our kayaks in the shed, cheap work great (we use pool noddles rather than foam blocks).

Where do you buy those?

I can see I don’t have room above the doors, sadly

But maybe more forward.

I bought the steel shelf brackets at Home Depot. The come in a range of sizes.

I also store my kayaks and canoe in the other half of the two car garage garage:

I hang my kayaks from the ceiling in my garage, with a combination of Rube Goldberg pulleys and 2" straps (the straps are the failsafe…not using the pulleys alone for storage.)

In the winter, the kayaks are snug up against the ceiling; in the summer (as shown), my CD hangs below the garage door when it’s open…makes for easier access.

I can store four in my two bay garage, one on each side of the opening mechanism in each bay. And yes, I probably could have bought kits off the shelf, but where’s the fun in that.
