Global warming – I guess I’ll take it

Rain (not snow) Saturday night brought the rivers up, and Sunday was sunny and in the mid-40’s. Can’t complain about that – unless you like winter. We got out for a flatwater/quickwater run on the Pawcatuck River in RI. Enjoyed a campfire at lunch, and spent the afternoon picking our way through blow-downs – can’t beat that.

I’ll take warm and sunny in January any time, over the alternative. Whether it’s global warming, or not, it’s good. The lake I was paddling in yesterday was about as high as I’ve seen it, so that should be of some consolation to the alarmists. Well maybe not, the lake level is controlled by a dam and not the melt off of glaciers.

Bee-you-tee-ful. Can’t beat paddling around downfall on a sunny day in mid-January although I’m not complaining about high 30’s in SW Michigan. I didn’t paddle but I did give swim lessons to some young kids and a good time was had by all.

Warming? A few days ago we had Iguanas falling out of the trees…
It hasn’t been that cold here for a few years…
