Something a little different than what I normally do.

I have oars for both my Wayfarer and Scamp sailboats. So, I do a bit of rowing from time to time. I have an idea of doing a simple removeable moving rowing seat for the Scamp to improve the ease and performance of rowing it.
Where’s Peter!?! If it’s wet, it’s mostly good.

I’m not coordinated enough to manage rowing.
That made me think.
I’m a little envious when I was in Venice I asked if I could give it a try, and the Gondolier laughed while giving me a very definite no.
The stroke is similar to a Canadian stroke with a canoe paddle.
If you get back, there are companies now that take you out and teach you the basics. We used Row Venice (https://rowvenice.org/) and thought it was a great experience.
Here is another which we saw but didn’t use.
Looks like fun. Molto bene!
is it still bad to fall into the water?
The city of elegant decay. What a place to visit. I loved it there.
The locals don’t swim in the lagoon, so I didn’t want to either
ALWAYS pay attention to the locals and do as they do. Hot tropical day and I wanted some refreshing, so started walking into the ocean when someone told me “mantas!” I turned and looked at him. He was in a group of about 10 locals, all in shallow water, rocky bottom. I was in sand as that’s what I walked into, from the sand beach.
Got it. Pay attention. Glad they were there.
I had a friend (now deceased) who grew up in Venice. As kids they used to play in the water - probably not a good idea then either.
New river with Cuz, have had trouble downloading pics, will try one at a time in comments
