Relative to river flow in cubic feet per second and MPH. These are different units comparing volume and speed. I can see direct correlation if one looks at same location on river to compare flow to speed. Consider if you have 1000 cfs flowing through a narrow cross section vs wide. It will be moving faster in restricted section.
