Guidance on Refinishing Kevlar Canoe

Hello All,

I’ve picked up a nice, older Wenonah Kevlar Ultra-Light. Even the slider bucket seats are kevlar! It has average character wear on the bottom and the sides are a bit dull as the canoe has been is barn storage for about 8 years or so. I’d like to recondition or perhaps a better word is “refresh” the finish on this canoe. Can anyone give me some advice on this task? Thanks, Jim

I wouldn’t touch it unless there are
gouges into the kevlar cloth.

I have three ultralight Wenonah canoes, (did a 15 miler in one today)

If you want it to shine you can use some 303 or armorall (I know it is unfriendly to the environment) or maxiglide (ski wax)

I just finished doing a lot of epoxy work on the one we used today, but that is because we trashed the bottom a few weeks ago on a rocky river.

Cheers,

jackL
