Gunwale Guard questions

Two questions about my wood gunwales:

  1. I see they recommend you apply gunwale guard a couple of times a year but does it hurt to apply it more than that and how much is too much?
  2. It looks like that there is some gunwale guard from the factory on the Royalex but for the life of me I can’t remove it, any suggestions?

If you oil the gunwales too much, they
may bleed oil and feel tacky.



Probably petroleum spirits will remove the congealed oil from the hull.
