Guys Please Suggest the Best Launch Pads for Kayak in California?

Hey everyone! Angela here, and I’m on the hunt for the best kayak launch spots in California that are safe and fun for kids. We love family adventures, and finding the right spot can make all the difference. I’ve heard great things about places like San Francisco Bay, Tomales Bay, and La Jolla, which are known for being family-friendly with calm waters and plenty of wildlife to keep the kids entertained.
I’m particularly interested in areas with easy access, safe conditions, and perhaps some amenities nearby for a picnic or a day out. Any recommendations or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The New Port Back Bay would be one that I know of. Of course that’s if you’re talking on the ocean side. The Colorado River is another nice and easy w/ some good areas north of Laughlin.

Lajolla Shores boat ramp and the Marine room close byl, are the safest spots for launching with kids in SOCAL if you want to paddle on the open coast, sea caves nearby when the surf is small (< 2’) and not coming directly from Northwest. The park at LJ shores is good for picnics and there are food stores close by on Avenida de la Playa. Watch out for sting rays, and on clear sunny days you can often sea leopard sharks in the shallows. That being said at the Marine Room a couple of years ago I saw juvenile Great White Shark jump clean out of the water behind two swimmers. I lived nearby for 25 years and have taken my kids and grandkids and visitors kayaking from there hundreds of times…
