Help With Fiberglass Canoe Identification

Looking for help identifying an older fiberglass canoe. The canoe is 15’6" long, and I would guess weighs between 80-90 lbs. There are no identifying marks anywhere on it.

I would love to know what canoe this is, and I would love any helpful tips on how to best take care of it. Thanks in advance!

All boats that are manufactured have a hull ID. It is like the VIN on a car. Look at the back of the boat just under the rail. If you have the hull ID might be able to trace that.

I looked all over and didn’t see any markings of any kind. HINs also weren’t standard until 1984, so if it’s older than that I’d be out of luck regardless. I’ll look again, but I think that’s a dead end.

Possibly an Old Town FG Model

Thanks! This seems to be it! I didn’t realize it was as old as it is, in as good of shape as it’s in. Doing some research it looks like they made this model from the mid 60’s to the mid 70’s. I’ll reach out to Old Town directly and see if they can give me any more information!

If it is an Old Town, there would be a serial number, sometimes it was on the inside up under the gunnel toward the stern. Didn’t meet the later HIN standards, but Old Town was a stickler for serial numbers. If you find it, they or the WCHA can provide the actual build sheet.
