Picked up this little Sears 10ft Al canoe. It’s in really good shape except for the seats. It has a plaque with A FGX7483M7 5K as the serial number. Can anyone help me identify when and who made these. It’s pretty old if I’m not mistaken.
The web site http://uscgboating.org/content/manufacturers-identification-result2.php identifies it as having been built by Ambassador Fiberglass, of Navarre, Florida.
The web site http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.htm indicates it was built in June of 1975.

That was the first thing that struck me about the second picture, is that the hull is made from fiberglass, not aluminum. It’s probably chopper-gun fiberglass, of course (heavier and not as strong as fiberglass made from woven cloth).
