How many of you have converted from a high-angle stroke to a low-angle stroke and were able to amplify your cadence and speed (or not)?
I switched the other way
I used a very low angle stroke for a long time and switched to a high angle stroke. I get more speed from the high angle, with less strain on the wrists and arms.
But… I am switching paddles and when I do I will probably end up with a mid-angle stroke.
I change daily
Get the boat up to speed, and then drop down to low angle (or not) according to mood
I use a a high angle with a wing
for racing, and a Euro with a lower angle for touring.
Some obsrvations:
A euro with a high angle is much faster than with a low angle.
A wing with a low angle is useless.
