Hobie Quest vs. Wilderness Tarpon

I am looking for a good SOT kayak that is both stable, but yet tracks well. I have done a lot of research and have narrowed it down to two. The Hobie Quest 13 and the Tarpon 14. I have read a lot of reviews about the Tarpon but I am also a firm believer than there are more reviews just because the Quest gets overshadowed by the Mirage kayaks. I have been told the Quest is a “sleeper” kayak. I have looked at Hobie website and I love the custom options of the Hobie with the H-rail system and etc, but the price is higher than the Tarpon.

Both of these kayaks have been very difficult to even find used for a good price.

Love my Tarpon 140 for stalking redfish in shallow water. It is a good mix for speed and maneuverability. Used to have a 120 but it was too slow. Looked at a 160 but the 140 suits my needs better in curvy bayous.

I have a WS Tarpon 140 and love it. I’m brand new to kayaking and it’s my first and only so take it for what it’s worth. I do have a 120 on order now though.
