I have an Old Town Discovery canoe that is wearing out on the bottom from too much rubbing on the rocks, the foam is showing. What are my options on repair?
Kevlar pads or duct tape
The kevlar pads last a little longer but they might pop off all at once and sink. Nothing sticks to poly boats better than duct tape, but the kevlar pads do look a little better.
Old Town
Makes a repair kit and a bang plate kit just for this. You can look them up on there website.
Is it Royalex or Superlink?
Go to Mohawkcanoes.com for good instructions on royalex repair. If it is Superlink, nothing will stick very well to that stuff.
Why fix it?
Why fix it because all you are going to do is start going over waterfalls with it again and bust it up.
