Question looking at this. Could you get a cheap foam rack and mount them to the roof of the trailer? Maybe swap the straps if you need longer ones?
We actually thought about doing some thing like that, not with foam, but a real rack. The problem for us is that the trailer has a very low payload and adding 100lbs isn’t viable.
I stand by my earlier suggestion… three right turns makes a left

A really long tow vehicle would also work, like a full size van, suburban, etc…

Did you ever find a shorter kayak, as that seemed to be your best bet, as you asked for suggestions on in the beginning. When will your news ones be built? I hope you got some kayaking in this year.
