I’ve read this forum’s guidelines, as suggested by the moderator Rookie.

Got it.
The main guidance, what’s emphasized is to act respectfully towards others. 100% agree with that.
But…I had a [prohibited word here] thread about a flu that took place, how it changed literally everything in almost everyone’s lives in the usa.
Yes, here during that era, members were afraid to go, afraid to carpool with others, business closed down, etc. And we are still feeling the affects of that in our lives.
So it was valid under the guidelines.
The first response, was someone attacking me. Three lines of response, only line 2 wasn’t a personal attack on me.
Took me a while, but I eventually responded in the least offensive manner I could do at the time.
So that [prohibited word] subject thread was deleted, the whole thread. Rookie sent me a PM that he did it and I appreciate that.
Sunlight, openess, and honesty are all great values to have and customers/users can greatly appreciate that as it also gives guidance.
Thus why I’m posting this here, where all the users can see it, what is taking place, rather than having things done behind the scenes, out of their knowledge.
I asked why he didn’t just delete the post that attacked me…and my response to it instead of removing the whole thread.
I have not received an answer back other than to refer me to read the guidelines, which I have.
Users, am I missing something? Tell me where I screwed up in posting about that [prohibited word] subject per the guidelines. I may have missed something as I have missed things before.
When I was an admin, if things got out of control between users, I’d warn them, then if they continued, I’d just remove the posts where the users were going off on each other. Actually, I edited each one, deleted what they said, and put my name there after “edited by”. That way, people could see what happened, who did it, and more importantly, I didn’t punish all the others who wanted to read/participate in the main post, the OP and the following conversations.
Removing the whole thread, to me, imo, is what’s called “the heckler’s veto”. If someone doesn’t like what is posted, they can chime in, attacking people and the whole thing will disappear.
So the person got what they wanted, the voice(s) silenced and subject disappeared.
Do you think that’s fair? Fair to other readers/users?
Anywho, that’s what happened.
I still don’t have any idea as what’s legal to say/think here and what isn’t tho.
And yes, I deleted your post about the Chinese lab as it was off topic. Read the FAQ, please
