When read this I saw fuel for more Darwin Award posts, or a cleverly disguised population control mechanism. One thing an outfitter/human-powered-rental-shop can provide, though they don't always, is encouraging safe paddling practices before the customer hits the water. It looks like these are unsupervised rentals and will enable more risk taking with out passing on knowledge associated with that risk. Hope the vendor has good insurance.
