I was looking at either using a scuba reel or retractable dog leash and run it from my seat, inside of the kayak, behind me, and up through this rod holder. When I’m ready I can just reach behind me and toss the anchor out. I’m wondering if it is okay to have it in this location though as far as capsizing due to waves. I don’t really want to put a lot of money into this kayak since it’s just a cheap one. Thanks!
