ISO Wooden Paddle Maker

Years ago I purchased this kayak from a man in Athens, Ga (a professor at a college there if I remember). It came with the wooden paddle. The paddle has a whale on it that is also wood. Recently someone stole my Jocassee kayak and this paddle. This was the lightest paddle I have ever used. I want another one. Does anyone know who the maker is? It seems at some point in time I learned they were in Savannah, Ga but I can’t find them now.

I live close to Savannah and the only paddle maker I know there is Benjamin Fontenot - http://bfpaddles.com/
But he is a relatively young man and makes Greenland paddles.

You might try contacting Savannah Canoe & Kayak - http://www.savannahcanoeandkayak.com/
Ben works there and it’s the biggest paddle shop in the city.

Ben is no longer in Savannah. He has moved to St. Paul Minnesota. Now a guide in the Apostle Islands.

Try sending an email to Darren Bush owner of Rutabaga Canoes in Madison Wisconsin. Darren knows lots of craftsmen in the industry and carves paddles himself; he might be able to point you to someone who can make what you are looking for.
