Hi – Anyone canoe the James between Maidens and Watkins Landing this time of year? Any guidance, what to look out for, portages, rapids, etc…? I want to paddle that stretch solo but not up to lugging my Penobscot 164 if I can avoid it. Thanks in advance!

Thanks! Yup. I know those guys well form buying 5 boats there through the years. I found a book on the James that I think will give me what I need as it covers the length of the river and all the navigable sections.
