Jocassee Today 4/29

I’ve been paddling Jocassee since the late 80’s and today was unusual for a couple of reasons.
I’ve never seen that many paddle craft of all varieties in a single day. Relatively few power boats.
And a waterfall I hadn’t seen.
The mountain laurel are blooming and there was a blooming vine I didn’t know. Castoff might.

Among all the rec boats and paddle boards we saw one sea kayak and one canoe.

Yellow jessamine, methinks.
Gorgeous day.

Looks like a trumpet vine, but that seems early.

I like the color of the water in the last pic, it reminds me of your neighborhood.

Jyak, it looks like a trumpet vine I found when I looked it up. Thanks.
Tom , the creek was a little murky from rain but really good at reflecting. Jocassee has the clearist water in the state.
Stop by next time you are in the neighborhood.

Its an odd color. Mist of them are orange. Normally cone out later furing the summer. May be why you didn’t recognize it.
