Jupiter, FL - kayak launch areas?

-- Last Updated: Aug-14-15 6:53 PM EST --

Greetings All,

I was curious if anyone could chime in on good kayak launch locations in the Jupiter, FL area? Preferably on, near or leads to the intracoastal. Any suggested kayak trails?

I paddled one of the parks nearby - I think it was Jonathan Dickinson, but the water table was kinda low and obstructions abound ;-) Looking for an easy not too stressful paddle without too many mosquitoes (mangrove areas) will be taking a friend from out of town that has not paddled for a few years - was thinking intracoastals would be more ideal for this in early morning or evening?

Thanks in advance!,

Bob

Burt Reynolds Park, JOC
Hi Bob, I’m a Jupiter area local and my favorite launch site for the intracoastal is Burt Reynolds Park. It has a sandy launch site specifically for kayakers- don’t use the power boat ramp also located there.

If you don’t own your own kayak and are looking to rent and/or go on tours, Jupiter Outdoor Center is good. Their website also has a launch site map, so you can see where launch site options and points of interest are. Burt Reynolds Park is the yellow star north of Indiantown and east of US 1. Points of interest to paddle to from that spot are Fullerton Island, Sawfish Bay, and the Sandbar.
