Nice trip report. Kawishiwi lake entry point is off the Sawbill Trail closer to Grand Marais than Ely. I was just at Polly Memorial Day weekend. We traveled to Fishdance to see the picto’s but that lake is creepy to me. I love everything about the bwca. Its just that special.

I paddled the Kawishiwi River last May with my brother in law, and we had a great time. We went in at Lake One, traveled to Alice Lake and then went back out through the numbered lakes to Lake One.
