Go to paddletsra.org which is the web site for the Tennessee Scenic River Association. They are based out of the Nashville area and run schools and led trips. Great organization with lots of folks willing to help.

Canoe and Kayak School
was last weekend - really a good learning experience for me. Only five students in a seakayak class. I think there’s a Knoxville paddling group that may also provide instruction. Better information can probably be obtained by asking on TSRA forum.
