I am interested in getting a sailing kayak such as a Hobie Adventure Island for use (fishing, day tripping) in Nantucket Sound but I haven’t seen any sailing kayaks in my area. Do these kayaks perform well in a 2 ft chop with 10-15 kt winds?

Lots of competitors sailing a Hobie Adventure Island have completed the 300-mile Watertribe Everglades Challenge.

They seem seaworthy, but I haven’t sailed one. Pedal drives can also be installed. Don’t know how they handle chop. Like Rookie said they have completed the Everglades Challenge.
