kayaking above red mill clinton n.j.

Has anyone ever kayaked above the damn at the Red Mill Clinton n.j. I think it is the south branch reran river.I saw that there is a launch below the damn .I wanted to know how the water level was also.thanks.

No but
I never have but paddled that area, but see if you can find a copy Garden State Canoeing by Edward Gertler. He details nearly every navigable river and stream in the state, suggests put in and take outs and tells you where to find the river gauges and the minimum gauge levels that the river is navigable.
