Kayaking is Amazing

Two of my paddling friends, a man and woman have 1,000 miles paddling already this year. I enjoy my kayaking and canoeing. To save writing I am adding a few photos.

I didn’t see myself in those photos. If I had feelings, they might be hurt.

A string of String photos to follow.

I have never owned a yellow PFD.

Who owns that beautiful GP?

Oh man those photos are absolutely gorgeous. I cannot wait to hit the Rivers and especially some swamp areas as so far I have only Kayaked in the Lake (we have had terrible weather these past couple of Months and so not much Kayaking activity in the Rivers or Swamp areas closer to me has even been allowed…there is so much more beautiful things to see on a River Run such as trees nature etc. that has got to be a wonderful feeling.

Hey Castoff!

Was that a Northshore Buccaneer - before the Valley takeover? I had a Calypso … kind of wish I still had it.

That would be Castoff. I carved it from Western Red Cedar and he decorated it . He is a very talented guy. We actually traded; he gave me a flute he made and decorated.
It also plays beautifully, at least in his hands.

Oops! Dr Johns Tarpon 16 fooled me. It was right next to a photo of you on your tarpon 16.

I own the red cedar GP that string made me after I gave him a bamboo NA style flute I made. I did the wood burning on it and the flute I gave him. Here are the burnings on a bamboo flute like his. Sorry for the quality of the photos the light isn’t very good in the kitchen at night.

You may have meant the GP Ole is holding in the waterfall on Lake Jocassee. Ole made it and also the storm paddle on the front of his boat.

Those are exquisite, castoff.

Yes it is I bought it on craigslist for $600, and love how it handles, the large fiberglass hatches, and the volume for kayak camping.

I made the wood kayak which is a 17’ merganser S/G kit from Shearwater Kayaks. I picked the kit up on craigslist for $400. I did some wood burning on it also. A few photos of that kayak.

Thank you Rookie.
