My husband and I are camping near Promised Land State Park, PA. I know you can kayak the lake, but we rather kayak a river to see wildlife (and avoid people).

Promised Land is a nice park (CCC Museum). They have a nice self guided tour of glacial features, such as a glacier bog, rocks abraided by the weight of rock strewn sliding glacier ice, and rock deposits left from the melt. Vast swaths of forest with fern undergrowth. Not aware of navigable moving water except for nearby Delaware, but there are two sizeable lakes north of the park.
