Lake Powell Kayak Rentals?

We’ll be camping throughout the Southwest for two weeks in June, and want to spend a day kayaking on Lake Powell. I’d like to hear from anyone who has experience or suggestions for tandem kayak rental vendors and must-see sights on the lake.

My wife and I are novice paddlers with our Prijon Capri II, but I don’t want to haul it all the way from Cincinnati to Arizona and back unless I have to. Also looking for suggestions on campgrounds in the Page/Lake Powell area. We’ll be camping in a teardrop travel trailer.

Cheers,

Tom

Consider a Guided Trip
Have you considered a guided day trip? I don’t know if any are available, but I imagine they could be. You described yourselves as “novice” paddlers. Will anyone else be paddling with you? The weather can change quickly for the worse on Lake Powell and the water can be quite cold if you go in. Doing a guided trip also will increase the likelihood that you get to the “must see” places. Just a suggestion from someone who has been to Lake Powell (university-sponsored trip) but, admittedly, doesn’t know a lot about the area beyond that one trip.
