Let's see your dogs, paddling or not

While it is true, life takes away many beloved people and animals as you described, it also provides you with an opportunity to make new friends and acquaintances. How about you sit down and make a small box of hand loads for @MohaveFlyer for her Redhawk, purpose built for Bear Protection. You are familiar with @MohaveFlyer, you have had many meaningful exchanges with her including on this subject. It is still the Christmas Season and @MohaveFlyer and her Marine Husband just moved back to the States it would be a belated Christmas Gift and a Homecoming Gift. I will bet it would mean the world to her coming from a fellow paddler and fellow Marine of her husband. Perhaps you can do it in memory of all you described.

I will gladly pay you for your time, materials and shipping.

If they can not divide us

I’d be delighted to do that. I doubt that she or her husband are set up to load their own (but I may be wrong) but I can also give one on one coaching about loading for that gun. I have owned 2 of them myself and have nothing but praise for the model. In fact, the last bear I killed with a handgun was killed with a Redhawk. (black bear).
MohaveFlyer has e-mailed me directly a few times but I have lost her contact info. I know they were moving to Washington, but I have misplaced the e-mail address, and I see for some “reason” the Bear Thread was removed from the site. It had the most posts of any thread on the site proving it was extremely popular, but for some “reason” it has now been scrubbed. So picking up where it was left off is now not possible.

I would do it. It is the perfect convergence. It is in your area of expertise and equipment to do an expert job without too much of a burden on yourself, @MohaveFlyer would be getting something that would completely fit her needs and could have confidence in and two paddlers would be participating in a meaningful exchange just for the heck of it. Not to mention the Marine connection and just getting back to the States. It would mean the world to her that someone gave her that consideration. Besides that, if any despondency exists from what you described, this may offer solace. You could make lifelong friends with the extended @MohaveFlyer family for a box of bullets.

I would so much like to see this happen between two people that my offer still stands. I would gladly pay for your time, materials and shipping.

Not as well versed in these matters as others, but I am sure you can still get a personal message to @MohaveFlyer (a DM I think they call it) through the forum. I am sure she is still participating.

Hi Everyone! We have been swamped with contractors but thinking of you all.

I’ll share a funny image from the airport.

I had about six suitcases, my dog (sitting on the gun case) some gold

I go through security and they pull my carry on, she opens it and throws my lotion in the trash.

JB leaves me in the curb with all this to go rent a car, then the Seattle SWAT team arrives for something but I can’t move because it’s all too much to handle.

Welcome back to the Serengeti

Hello again.
PM me if you’d be interested in some ammo for the Ruger 44 (as per the conversation above)

@szihn is on the case.

Be careful @szihn , every thread @MohaveFlyer gets involved with gets taken down.

The dog looks forlorn, what have you been doing to it?

What kind of contractors do you need?

Welcome back to the USA @MohaveFlyer

They do? I did not know that.

He flew from California to Germany via DC as a puppy so maybe he has bad memories of being in the crate.
If wolves want to hang out with people, they have to do some crazy stuff.

Why such a delay, I thought you were mad at me for being flippant.

Go up and read the response from @szihn where he mentions that the “Black Bear Advice” thread ( which I thinK you started and led me to the crazy idea of having @szihn hand load some bear protection ammo for you and he went along with it, long shot)
was not only locked but actually taken down according to @szihn which I had never seen before, I thought maybe it was because of you posting pictures of your Momma shooting up the neighborhood with a shotgun and of you with the Redhawk across your chest.

Here, I have something for you as a welcome home gift. You wont find this in Germany.

What kind of contractors are you fooling with.

:laughing:I get confused how to take people on here because I don’t know many safety people IRL.

You lost me, what is “ safety people IRL.”

People that always observe how you should do something from a safety first perspective.
People’s risk tolerance varies quite a bit so I never know if someone is joking or serious on the internet vs real life.

No snakes?

It is an affliction, a conditioning and it is debilitating.

Plenty…

Our old girl. 16. She’s been a boater, a swimmer and still camping with us. I haven’t taken her in the kayak though.

You are talking about Peoples’ safetY IRL, at first I did not know what you were talking about, but I do now. I wanted to find a paddling trip being led by @willowleaf and show up with a 44 magnum in a shoulder holster open carry, with no PFD, wearing a MAGA hat.

why in the heck would you say that…all joking aside it’s still shitty…
