Let's see your dogs, paddling or not

The puppy is on the left, 7 months. The other is 5 years. Seems we end up with Flat Coated Retrievers one at the top of the height/ length and one at the bottom of the height/length for their class. Puppy is getting into retrievals. The 5 year old has shoulder injuries and is switching to scent work. But she loved to get those ducks , bumpers, bottles, cans, etc from the river.

I have intentionally avoided this thread.

We had to have about 18" of fencing above the post tops to keep the fence climbers in the dog pen at the hunt camp. When they got to the unsupported wire it would bend in toward the enclosed area and they would fall. For the diggers we also had to lay 3’ of wire on the ground next to the fence. Your fence would not have kept them in.

I have missed Maggie now for 7 years. She was my hiking, paddling, hunting partner and friend. She was found dumped out as a puppy on a dirt road in the woods. My canoes seem emptier these days

As you are well aware, there are many dogs who need and are missing people. Get one and rejoin the party.
I need to bring both of ours for a visit.

Where ya at my boy…

Wind River Valley of Wyoming.

I was talking to the dog.

Keep him away from @MohaveFlyer, she will neuter him in 5 seconds.

“He’s” a she ---- and she also is in the Wind River Valley of Wyoming.
Wonderful day. Bright skies and sun, and warm for February. Snow’s almost gone (for now) and Olaf (my 2 year old dog) has now gained a new friend. We had to put down our old dog Abraham (14 years old) on December 18th and our old Goat Leupold (almost 15 years old) on January 6th. Olaf was always with one or the other and so he’s been depressed now that he’s the only dog (Leupold though he was a dog ------- and so did Olaf)

So now it’s puppy time again and I am sure Olaf is going to be happy again

Looks like a champion.

Still keep her away from @MohaveFlyer, turn her into a sissy.

Say @szihn, you have any use for this for spraying or strawing your home made penetrating oils or cleaners? I just got mine and it really looks nice with 3 different nozzles, plenty of straws and spare parts.

What was your formula again for penetrating oil? Something to do with ATF.

Yes the best penetrating oil I have ever used is a 50-50 mix of Acetone and ATF, But you need to either keep it in something 100% airtight of mix it just before use because the acetone evaporates too quickly to store it for long in any unsealed container

That is what I forgot, the Acetone. I forgot about your formula and bought a gallon of PB Blaster to get away from buying aerosol cans constantly. Then I remembered you had a home made formula. When the PB Blaster is gone I will mix ATF I use with 50 State legal CRC I got a deal on, which is mostly Acetone.

I hope they are having fun.

I probably have about 3k photos of my dog! So here’s 5 of our sweet girl Juno a ~6 yr old Pitt/Lab mix we adopted about 5 years ago. Loves to harshly critique my casts, get first nibs on the fish and bite at the lily pads and flowers more than actually being in a canoe. But she still likes to come along

Why I have his posts blocked.

Better to block then to lose a debate, smart move.

I see you two are using a Grey Owl Guide. I have one and it is a favorite paddle. My other is a bent shaft FFG by Foxworx. I also have a few others, but those are the two I use the most.

I knew a guy whose retriever would fetch a hooked fish when he fished from shore.
